Hi Denis.

This is exactly what I get.

I am wondering if we have both made the same mistake about which of the components of the Developer.mpkg to install. When I click the "Customize" button in the installer after openning this pacakge, the X11 Developer Tools is *de*selected, even though I previously installed it from the .pkg file in the Installers directory.

I'm really looking forward to getting fink working, because I've not learned to love the Apple Way of installation yet.

Can someone tell us, exactly how does Fink detect that a valid Apple X11 is present when it installs, and is there any other way of pointing this out to it when it feigns ignorance?

Just going away to rm -rf /sw and try the fink install over again (again).

For ex when I try "fink install gimp", one ask me which version of xfree I should install.
(1) xfree86-base-threaded: XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients and data
(2) xfree86-base: XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients and data
(3) xfree86: XFree86 distribution

It's probably related : Using deselect and hitting [U]pdate, I get :
