After installing Panther I have waited awhile to let things settel down before updating Fink and the various packages that I have installed.
I am doing everything through Fink Commander.
The Fink self-update went smoothly.
When I did update-all, a number of packages updated but many others would not.
At the very beginning, when Fink is scanning for packages I get the following message:

I go ahead and accept the installation, and after compiling glib successfully (apparently) it starts the next compile:

runs through a lot of compilation and then crashes with the following block of messages:

There are a bunch of exit status 126 messages early (whatever that means) and the the dpkg execution fails.
Any suggestions? All advice gratefully accepted.
