i'm new to apple, and heard about the fink project, and i was very impressed. But i have some Problems installing the gcc 3.3.
I'm using Mac OS X Version 10.3.2 and I downloaded "December 2002 Mac OS X Developer Tools" and installed them. The gcc coming with this
Oh no! Why did you do this? It is actually a bug in that package that it lets you install it. Get rid of it.
With Panther, you *only* install the developer tools that come with Panther, that is the things on the Xcode CD plus possible updates. I you bought Panther, you have the Xcode CD. If Panther came with a recently bought Mac which has a system DVD, there are two possibilities:
Either you have the installer for the Xcode dev tools on your hard disk, in /Applications/Installers/, or you don't. If you have it, install it and then run SoftwareUpdate to get the latest version. If you don't have it, you need to download "Xcode Tools v1.1" from the Apple site.
