I really would like to help you but I am afraid that there is a lack of informations in your email that prevents me from doing so and most other helpers to. So please give the list more informations so that it can help you out of the trouble you're in. First would be to let us know which version of fink you are using and on which Mac with which Version of Mac OS X on it. There's a "little" Difference between Panther and Jaguar. Further it would be good to know how you're gonna try to install/update the package. I can only guess that maybe you try it via fink commander or via dselect. Apt-get could also be possible. Only think that can be excluded is the way via "fink install". Only thing that is indipendent equal which way of installing you take is that the first thing after installing fink is to do a fink selfupdate in order to get the latest available package descriptions.
