I would delete every file that has esound in its name and still 
lies on your machine. After that do a fink scanpackages, a fink 
index, a fink selfupdate and see what happens. 

If this fails try to install esound via apt-get, and you will get 
either an older version of it or the latest, that's pretty equal, I 
only hope that so the correct information about the package comes 
back into fink.
