Greetings

I nuked my old fink installation and reinstalled it from
binaries. I'm using fink 0.6.2 on a G4 Quicksilver 933 with OS X
10.3.2. So far I've been able to use apt-get to install gimp,
abiword, and a few other packages from binaries, and everything
has worked perfectly so far.

Except:

I also installed xmms from binaries. I can start xmms from an
xterm and it appears to start up OK, but when I go to Preferences
and try to specify the esound output plugin, no output plugins
show up at all. In fact no plugins - input, output, or
visualization, show up at all. Also, clicking the Apply button in
the Preferences dialog crashes the program. I trashed the old
~/.xmms folder, but that didn't help.

I've done a search and have seen that this has been addressed
recently in the mailing list, but as far as I can tell no real
resolution (other than just to reinstall xmms, which I have done)
has ever been posted. I've even removed it and reinstalled it
from source, but no luck.

All help is appreciated!
