I'm slowly getting the Gnome desktop to work :). However, installing gnome-panel fails, apparently because of Perl:

checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for working aclocal-1.4... missing
checking for working autoconf... found
checking for working automake-1.4... missing
checking for working autoheader... found
checking for working makeinfo... found
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for intltool >= 0.21... 0.29 found
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 1
Failed: compiling gnome-panel-2.4.2-6 failed

I have Perl 5.6.0 installed from Fink in /sw/bin. Running fink install gnome-panel does not show any missing dependencies other than gnome-panel-shlibs. Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks,

Marc
