<AKH> I've gotten this error before, but selecting Log in Anyway lets GNOME start up. Do you select Log in Anyway or Try Again?
If I do try 'Log In Anyway', I get another error stating:
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
The last error message was:
Faild to activate 'OADIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon'
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
Then is quits out completely. No Gnome, No X11.
<AKH> it's in the unstable tree.
hmm, I thought I was set up to see that. Well, more prefs to look into for me.
Thanks for the info though! ' ~Israel~\
I remember seeing this with GNOME on Apple X11 before. Are you starting GNOME from your .xinitrc, or are you starting it manually?
