Actually I was thinking of a .deb file, which is the Fink binary format. Try "sudo apt-get install wget"

As to the segmentation fault--do you have the right version of the Developer Tools installed?

I remember using the command " fink install wget", and I'm pretty sure it installed the source from a mirror, but I could be wrong. I've since gone back, uninstalled the original version, and tried to install it again with the same "fink install wget" command. I still get that error. Is there a binary (.pkg) of it that can be downloaded?

Thank you Emily, that does seem to help out. I will try that steps.

Regarding OS 10.3, I do have a system that inherited the tcsh from
10.2, but I also have a computer with 10.3 on it, from a clean
install. The default on the clean 10.3 is bash. On this machine I
installed fink with no problems, but when trying to run wget, I get
the error message:

Segmentation Fault

Can anybody help me understand what this means?

How did you install wget: binaries or source? -- Alexander Hansen Fink Documentarian [Day Job] Levitated Dipole Experiment http://www.psfc.mit.edu/LDX
