Martin, This was the question Alex asked at the start - no I'm not running Panther. I'm still on Jaguar. I had a half-installed fink and I had been using X11 apps but now I have some time so I wanted to reinstall everything and make it work.
Here is the result to fink-virtual-pkgs: (looks like I have the perl core) % fink-virtual-pkgs Package: system-perl Status: install ok installed Version: 5.6.0-1 description: [virtual package representing perl] provides: perl560-core Package: system-java13 Status: install ok installed Version: 1.3.1-1 description: [virtual package representing Java 1.3.1] Package: system-java14 Status: install ok installed Version: 1.4.1-1 description: [virtual package representing Java 1.4.1] Package: system-java14-dev Status: install ok installed Version: 1.4.1-1 description: [virtual package representing Java 1.4.1 development headers] Package: macosx Status: install ok installed Version: 10.2.8-1 description: [virtual package representing the system] Package: darwin Status: install ok installed Version: 6.8-1 description: [virtual package representing the kernel] Package: system-java13-dev Status: install ok installed Version: 1.3.1-1 description: [virtual package representing Java 1.3.1 development headers] --- Martin Costabel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > K Fung wrote: > > It looks like all roads lead to Rome... > unfortunately. > > After this long thread, you are not the only one who > is confused.
