Hi,sounds to me like you left out developer tools, which is crucial to compiling.
I am new on Mac OS X.
I have installed OS X 10.3.2, X11; Fink and Xcode1.1.
Now if I try to update the fink package the error appears.
I do the following
fink selfupdate
then the computer will sync and begins to compile, and then happen this:
configure: WARNING: you should use --build, --host, --target checking build system type... powerpc-apple-darwin checking host system type... powerpc-apple-darwin checking target system type... powerpc-apple-darwin checking for powerpc-apple-darwin-gcc... no checking for gcc... gcc checking for powerpc-apple-darwin-gcc... gcc checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables ### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 77 Failed: compiling dpkg-1.10.9-200 failed
I don't now what I should do to solve this problem.
Frank
btw, i don't have xtools, is there anything i'm missing w/o them?
