I'm having trouble installing anything via Fink.
I get the following error regardless of the package I choose to
install:

Any ideas of what is wrong?
As I said, I get the same error if I try to install Gnome, XMMS, KDE
- anything.

Check /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status, which is a text file, with a text
editor (like pico) and see it looks like around line 2525
i'd vote for reinstalling fink if it won't work as it is. and download
the binary installer again, in case the installer you have handy was
corrupted during download.
