Greetings,
After many, MANY hours of trying to get Gaim working in Apple's X11 using Fink, I finally reached sucess last night. YAY!
I have a PowerBook. At home I use it "stand-alone". I was home last night. This morning, I come in to work and set up my PowerBook, hooking it up to the 15" flat panel I have in my office (more desktop!).
I opened X11. I typed /sw/bin/gaim
It didn't work. :-(
I get: ----- [rompbg4:~] prescor% /sw/bin/gaim Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified
I get that error every so often with only one screen. If you run
rm ~/.Xauthority ; touch ~/.Xauthority
that may help
(gaim:28819): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkdisplay-x11.c: line 323 (gdk_display_get_name): assertion `GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
** (gaim:28819): WARNING **: cannot open display: unset -----
Will this not work in a multiple display configuration? Is there Xinerama support?
