What version of KDE? I checked it with 3.2.0 and it works fine for me.

I have kdesdk3 and kdesdk3-base installed, but haven't explicitly installed anything else KDE-related (aside from dependencies that Fink Commander worked out on its own).

For what it's worth, when Kompare tells me that it can't find it's part, I see these lines in the console:

kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: dlcompat: Symbol "_init_komparepart" not found
kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: The library komparepart does not offer an init_komparepart function

Any other thoughts?
Joel

In this case, it would be to look in kdesdk3.info file:

e.g. /sw/fink/10.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/kde/kdesdk3.info for 10.3/unstable

Kompare is my first. What is the best way to see dependencies for a particular package?

Hello-
I am trying to run some KDE apps (particularly kompare, which I installed via Fink Commander), and when I try to run kompare, I get a huge amount of what I assume is debug spewed to the console, and then a dialog opens, asking me for the files to compare. When I give it files, I get an error that says "Did not find our Part!" and Kompare dies.
Perhaps the first question should be, do I have to specifically install and/or run any other KDE-related packages in order to get a single KDE related package to work? I'm new with using GNOME or KDE-based packages on OS X, so forgive me if this is just a dumb question.

Thanks-
Joel

What other KDE-based packages do you have installed now? Kompare may be missing a dependency.
