I want to install the Subversion client using Fink. However I can't seem to do it.
According to this page: http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/svn-ssl I should be able to find the package named "svn-client-ssl" in the unstable tree. My /sw/etc/fink.conf file has the unstable tree:
------------------
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto local/bootstrap unstable/crypto unstable/main
------------------
It doesn't show up in Fink Commander and I can't find it with apt-cache or fink:
------------------
atari:/sw/etc john$ apt-cache show svn-client-ssl
W: Unable to locate package svn-client-ssl
atari:/sw/etc john$ fink describe svn-client-ssl
Information about 1674 packages read in 2 seconds.
Failed: no package found for specification 'svn-client-ssl'!
------------------
Apt-cache won't do anything for an unstable package.
My descriptions are up-to-date and I am indexed.
Did you do one more selfupdate after you turned on unstable? If you're using rsync selfupdating, then the unstable descriptions only get downloaded when you have unstable turned on.
What am I doing wrong? It's got to be obvious, but I can't figure it out...
Thanks, John
