My freetype2 update (with Fink Commander) went well this morning though... The mystery deepens.

The /sw/bin/freetype-config was removed from a place in the path because of conflicts between the freetype libraries in /sw/lib and in /usr/X11R6/lib depending on what version of X11 you have, what libraries are being linked to at a given time, and a number of other factors (see the list archives for details, it was gone over at great length).


The newest version of the freetype package restores it to a place outside of the path, for a couple of exceptional programs that need fink's freetype specifically, and should still not be used unless your package absolutely positively won't work with X11's provided freetype.
