Use "sudo" before invoking your editor, e.g. "sudo pico /sw/etc/fink.conf".

Hi,

I need to edit fink.conf in order to access unstable packages. As far as
I know I have super-user privileges (I have the password) but how do I
begin editing as a super-user? Do I need to somehow logon as a
super-user? I should say that I'm new not only to Fink, but to UNIX.

Thanks

Lawrence
