For Sound in KDE try:
Select
Settings -> Control Settings -> Sound and Multimedia -> Sound System
Select the hardware tab


Try using the Enlighten Daemon for the audio driver. (The General tab has a test sound button and a enable sound check mark.

And this as well.

PS: Doesn't this CCing break the thread? I don't know if the list is open to not subscribed adresses, but wouldn't it be better to send "To:" the list and "CC:" to the poster (if the list is open that is, if the list isn't open, there would be no need at all to CC.
Just wondering.
