<snip>Hi. I'm trying to get a package running that links to Xm and Xm.h My computer is currently using Mac X11, and the aqua window manager, with Panther as its OS. Install either the lesstif or the openmotif packages.
I get the following errors installing lesstif, even though I'm using an xterm to do the installation, so I must have X11:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of lesstif-shlibs: lesstif-shlibs depends on x11; however: Package x11 is not installed.
This is saying not that you lack X11, but the 'x11' Fink package. This suggests that you may be missing a file, which causes Fink's autodetection of X11 to give up. Try reinstalling the X11User package.
