Wanted to have some fortran compiler on my 733Mhz PPC G4 running under OS X 10.2.8.
Looking for tby surfing on the web I discovered that my fink version -0.5.1 was obsolete.
Thus I have tried :
1. in terminal "dselect", then U, then I, then Q. All seems to work well and fast, but the fink version (obtained through "fink --version") was always -0.5.1
2. thus I have followed your "these special instructions" :
First install old version through :
curl -O http://us.dl.sourceforge.net/fink/direct_download/dists/fink-0.5.1/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/base/fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb
sudo dpkg -i fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb
rm fink_0.11.1-10_darwin-powerpc.deb
Second :
fink selfupdate
This has taken a lot of time and the resulting fink version is :
fink --version
Package manager version: 0.16.2
Distribution version: 0.7.0.cvs

And on your web site you say that it is version -0.6.3 for Jaguar users 10.2.
How shall I manage all that. I am new in Linux and I just need a fortran compiler on my Mac.
