I am trying to install bioperl-pm581 (my Perl version is 5.8.1, so I need this version of bioperl, right?). I ran into a little bit of problem installing dependencies.
When I first started, it asked me to choose a version of "io-stringy-pm5XX" to fulfill a virtual dependency. I chose "io-stringy-pm581" as my Perl version is 5.8.1. It then proceed to install many additional packages. When it got to mime-tools-pm581, it encountered a problem of "/sw/src/mime-tools-pm581-6.200-02-05/MIME-tools-6.200-02" directory not existing.
I looked into "/sw/src/mime-tools-pm581-6.200-02-05/" directory and found a "MIME-tools-6.200_02" (underscore at the end, not dash) directory there. I then proceed to create a such directory.
When I tried re-installing bioperl again, same error message showed up (please see the installation log below). When I looked into "/sw/src/mime-tools-pm581-6.200-02-05/" directory, the "MIME-tools-6.200_02" that I created was deleted. I guess that mime-tools-pm581 installation script deletes the existing "/sw/src/mime-tools-pm581-6.200-02-05" directory and creates a new one?
Has anybody had success in installing bioperl-pm581 (or mime-tools-pm581 for that matter)? Can someone help me to get through this hump? Thanks so much!!
Regards,
Chia
