I see that on August 16, amaya-8.6-2 was uploaded with the note "New
revision fixes build problem if mysql-dev was installed." That
certainly sounds like it could be relevant to your problem (and even
if not, why should we waste time debugging an outdated version?).
Update your package descriptions ("selfupdate") and see if you get the
