Hi

I'm not sure where else to seek help with this, I've placed a bug
report on the MC site at sourceforge as well.

I'm running OS X 10.3.6 on a G5 2Ghz Mac and have successfully
installed MySQL using Fink.

I installed Midnight Commander (mc-4.5.54-3-deb), using Fink and, after
installing X Windows from the Apple site, managed to get it to run in
terminal. However, the cursor keys do not respond to keyboard input
and produce only alphanemeric characters (a,b,c or d respectively) at
the prompt line. Clicking on the menu or file items produces no
response. Control O minimises MC but does not allow input into the
terminal.

Function keys seem to work OK. Tab and Return keys operate as expected
but, as there's no way to navigate, MC is effectively rendered useless.

Forgive me if I've put this question in the wrong place, if you know of
some other mailing list where I might more usefully seek advice please
let me know.

If anyone has solved this problem I'm keen to hear how it was done, I
really miss MC on the Mac as I use it extensively on my Linux systems.

Regards

Ray

I've gotten some improvement in mc's response by setting the TERM environment variable, e.g. to "xterm" or "vt100", but it's still not exactly what you'd get on Linux.
