Hello all,
I have had the the headache HEAD-problem while making
% fink selfupdate
A good soul send me the file old "head" from /usr/bin/ which were
overwritten by a new "HEAD" see :
http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/comp-general.php?phpLang=en#head
The old file HEAD I renamed as HEAD_from_libwww, but I think this
file I my trash ???
ok ! The selfupdate was finally working ! uff ! But now starts the next
problem :
% fink update-all
is not working because of a missing gcc3.1 compiler see :
http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/comp-general.php?phpLang=en#gcc2
the only old gcc I have found on my Xtools CDs is version gcc2.95.2, which I
installed, but I am still getting
% Failed: Can't resolve dependency "gcc3.1" for package
"xfree86-4.4.0-13" (no matching packages/versions found)
Apparently I have still have only the 3.3 version of gcc :
% gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/libexec/gcc/darwin/ppc/3.3/specs
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 1671)
Please, where can I find the old 3.1 version of gcc ? I looked over all
older installers, which I downloaded earlier, my Xtools CD and on the
Developer Pages of Apple.
thank you all
marek
