I still can't get XMMS to play any music nor do I even know if my X11 will do any sound at all. I did remove my original XMMS Binary install, then installed the X11SDK per another members suggestions and do an install again of the XMMS but this time via Source. So, the install from Source from within FINK (SOURCE>>INSTALL from the main menu) appeared to work fine and when it finished, I launched my X11 system, opened the SW/BIN folder and double clicked on the XMMS application file (1.9MB) and it launched the player (the windows appear to be in the same area of the desktop when I had last used it in the Binary version), selected a MP3 song, and nothing.

So, I am missing something I guess and yes, I am a newbie to X11. Is there something else I needed to do after the SOURCE>>INSTALL from Fink? Do I supposed to go into the XMMS Preferences after I launch it and select or de-select something to make this all work.

Any guidance would be great.

Thanks

Thomas
