Yup, found it, but in the unstable category so my list did not show it. So, from the terminal I did a "fink install sylpheed" and for about an hour it went through the install process but at the end, although I found tons of files that were just installed, I find nothing to launch this application. I looked in the sw/bin folder where all of my other apps have went and no sylpheed in there. So, is it someplace special for me to launch or maybe did install not work right?

Curious, if I can't get this to work, how to I now remove all the Sylpheed files now that Fink does not see it installed. Or, is that one of the problems of installing from the terminal like I did and now I have thousands of files all over the place that do nothing for me.

Just curious.

Are you running X11or some other X windows program first? You need to start X11 or its equivalent like xfree86 or x.org. When X is running you then type 'sylpheed' or '/sw/bin/sylpheed' in an xterminal window and it should start. I assume you have an .xinitrc file in your home directory that is set up to run and call an X window manager? If this makes no sense to you I can give you more pointers but there is alot of info on the fink website in FAQ.
