I hit only return, but it ask me the password. I cannot reset CVS and restart...

One other question would be why aren't you using rsync?
rsync also give some errors, I don't know why.
What sort of errors? These may be easier to fix than the above.
I wan't lose my Fink configuration reinstalling all :-(
