Hello Fink Beginners. In the August, 2004 issue of MacWorld magazine, Cyrus Farivar wrote an article entitled "Hasta la Vista, Aqua." In it he gave instructions on how to get KDE to run on Mac OS X. On the second page of the article near the top of the first column, he gave the command
"sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install bundle-kde" I received an error when I performed that command. The error was "unstable/main packages not found" I've been trying to track down the solution for this error since it blocks the completion of the entire proces outlined in the article. The step in the enablement of the KDE desktop is failing repeatedly and perhaps you have a solution because I assume it must be failing for everyone trying this. It is the apt-get update download specified by the commands deb http://fink.opendarwin.org/bbraun 10.3/unstable main crypto and possibly deb http://fink.opendarwin.org/bbraun 10.3/stable main crypto As a result of this problem, the KDE build and install fails. I've looked at the http://fink.opendarwin.org page but am not knowledgeable enough to figure out an alternative. I emailed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] thinking he is the author of the package but I received no response. Can anyone help me complete this install of KDE or just point me to another source for the files I am missing? You can read the magazine article online at http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~cfarivar/stories/hastalavista.html. Thanks alot, </WS-Jeff> _____ Jeff Miller, Sr. Software Engineer IBM Developer Skills Program developerWorks [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by Demarc: A global provider of Threat Management Solutions.
