Thanks for the reply. So far, no, I do not have a WM installed. (I'm thinking of trying Afterstep when I'm ready to dive into building it...) However, new news to report: After re-reading everything at the Fink website (yea, go figure... RTFM, right? :-), I managed to reinstall fink from scratch. Interestingly, after this was done both Apple's X11 (I seem to have lost the "full screen or Rootless" question box and it goes straight to Full Screen which is fine) and XDarwin (which still gives me the Full or Rootless choices) worked! XDarwin seems to run fine now rootless and I even got NMapFE as well as xmms installed and running :-) Currently I'm building Gimp... Started that process before I saw your reply... We'll see how it goes, so far so good... I'll setup a simple WM (prob. IceWM) after the Gimp attempt. Thanks again! - Derek
