I have been trying to install Gnumeric using Fink from source.
After many problems, I have cleared everything off and reinstalled the latest Xcode Tools 1.5 and the November 2004 gcc 3.3 updater. I then installed the Fink binaryand ran self update from FinkCommander OK.
I then tried to install Gnumeric directly and it failed.
I have then tried to source install the dependencies, package by package and whilst several install OK, the following all failed:
libgnomeprintui2.2 (2.6.2-8)
libgsf (1.10.1-0)
libglade2 (2.3.6-16)
libgnome2 (2.6.1.2-9)
They all failed with the same type of problem, this example from libgsf:
libtool: link: warning: library `/usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.la' was moved.
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/local/lib/libfreetype.la'
make[2]: *** [gconf-sanity-check-2] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
### execution of make failed, exit code 2
Failed: compiling gconf2-2.6.3-10 failed
Looking back through various message boards, I see this type of issue being solved by fix-fink but when I installed that and tried to run it, it failed to run and I subsequently found other posts that it was obsolete in any case.
Can anybody advise me where to go next?
Also, regarding the dependencies, which of the many Fink listed versions of Python do I need and what aregnome-xml and gda? They appear as dependencies but aren't listed on Fink stable packages.
Many thanks in advance.
Nathan
