I uninstalled and reinstalled fink and now it's working fine. I'm selfupdating from source as I write this. I didn't expect it to take so long, though. Which leads me to a question: is there any way to know ahead of time how long it's going to take a package to compile? Obviously this is dependent on CPU speed etc, so I guess I mean relative to other packages. Maybe that's the same question as, Is there a simple way to see how big a package is before downloading?
