Could you put your .profile in home directory out of the way renaming
it .profile.old or anything you want, then close the Terminal.app and
reopen it.
Then make this test:
1- To see the name of the current shell (if you don't see it already):
Go to Terminal -> Preferences manu, Window set up (or something like
this), check the shell command name option. It should give tcsh at
the top of the window.
2 - To see the PATH contents (under tcsh):
echo $path
and try also this one:
echo $PATH
Both results should be identical, except the space colon difference
between the paths.
