OK, I've followed the instructions. I installed X11 off the
instructions in item #3 from this page:

Which are: "Double click on the "Xcode Tools.mpkg" inside the
folder Xcode Tools in the Tiger Install DVD. Before installing
confirm that the "X11 SDK" and the "DevSDK" (among other things)
are selected from the 'Software Development Kits'."
Then I removed my current fink installation with "sudo rm -Rf /sw"
and reinstalled it according to these directions:
http://fink.sourceforge.net/download/index.php
I used Fink 0.8.0.
So then I go to the command line and type "fink install ethereal".
It asks me for my password and then gives me this:
Information about 1746 packages read in 5 seconds.
Failed: Can't resolve dependency "x11" for package "gtk+2-
shlibs-2.4.9-8" (no matching packages/versions found)
Didn't I just install x11? Why can't it find it? Did I do something
out of order?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You didn't install all of X11--just the development headers. You
need to install X11User--it's an optional install from your Tiger DVD.
