I've tried several times to download the Developer Tools from
there (all 750 MB of it), with absolutely no success. After failing
with Safari I installed Speed Download 3 from another Apple
website, but have had no better luck. Generally after 50 - 70 MB or
so the process just dies, and there appears to be no resume
function. I'm connected to the internet via an adsl router, and I
have had some problems in the past downloading large files from
Linux and Windows boxes, but never anything quite as persistently
unsuccessful as this.
I just downloaded the June Developer Documentation in PDF (Disk
Image), 535.4 MB, with my standard Apple internal modem (non-DSL)
using iCab as my browser. The Internet connection broke down at least
four, maybe a half dozen, times. Each time, I
1. Re-established the Internet connection.
2. Logged into the Apple Developer Connection (you have a free
membership, I assume?)
3. Brought iCab's Download Manager window forward.
4. Highlighted the Developer Documentation line.
5. Clicked the Start button.
In each case, the download resumed where it had left off, giving me
in the end an uncorrupted .dmg file of the complete documentation; I
installed it uneventfully. Almost certainly, a similar process must
exist with Safari.

Jonathan
