Dear list - '

I Just ran a 'fink install bundle-gnome', with the
intention of running the gnome-panel on my normal
Panther-desktop. Install works out fine, and the launch of
the gnome-panel too, but the panel doesn't react to my
mouse clicks at all.

Trying to run a gnome-session in full-screen mode, I
encountered a similar problem; Gnome starts up
beautifully, but the panel does not respond to the mouse.

So, first question: Is there any way I can make the
gnome-panel respond to the mouse?

Second, which may be related to the first; the 'fink info'
command tells me to be sure I'm not running any window
manager when starting Gnome. However, clicking some icons
on the Gnome-desktop shows me I'm still running Apples X11
window manager - it doesn't allow me to close or move the
windows any more, though. How do I use Metacity as my
Window Manager for Gnome with Apple's X11? And is this
possible in rootles mode or in fullscreen mode only?
