I don't know it'll help with "phimes" or not, but the "calc" package,
which is from

is great for prime piddling ... and lots of other numerology. Not a fink
port, I think, but it compiles and installs very nicely from what I could
see.
It exists in Fink, too, though not in the stable distribution (probably
because nobody ever bothered to give feedback to the maintainer so that
it could be moved to stable). So you have to say "fink install calc". It
has a "factor" command.
There are a few other packages in Fink that can do such things, for
example pari-gp which allows you to factor not only integers, but also
polynomials, and over other rings, too.
