Hi.

I was doing a source update and got the following message when trying to install gconf-editor.

Failed: Can't resolve dependency "liblpeg" for package "gconf- editor-2.10.0-1" (no matching packages/versions found)

I am guessing that there is typo in the dependency list, and that this should be "libjpeg"

You guessed correctly, as best as I can tell.

I checked the list of packages, and there is no registered maintainer for this package; there is a gconf2, which is maintained by the gnome organization.

They aren't the same package. gconf-editor is used to edit the stuff installed by gconf2, I believe.

Should I try to force replacement of gconf with gconf2, or is there some mechanism for getting the dependency on the gconf-editor files fixed? Or is there really a liblpeg that is missing?

This is fixed in CVS now, and should be making its way to your rsync mirror. Do a "fink selfupdate" and look for gconf-editor-2.10.0-2.
