I appear to be having the same error as Mike for gnome-terminal-2.6.1-8.
I'v includes the error file at:
<http://www.ljsworld.com/errtxt/gnome-terminal-errFile.txt>
I'm using Tiger 10.4.2
fink --version
Package manager version: 0.24.8
Distribution version: 0.8.0.rsync
xtools 2.1

Note. Presently using gnome-terminal-2.6.1-7 which I got from binary.
