You may have installed something before, e.g. Virex 7.2, that illictly created a /sw directory. From a Terminal window run sudo rm -rf /sw I tried the > same thing on my desktop and came up with the same err. I'm running > 10.3 on the laptop and 10.4 on the desktop if that helps any. Since blackbox is in the "unstable" source tree, you'll need to have XCode installed, including the X11 SDK package. Turn on the unstable tree in the FInk Commnander Preferences, and then use Source->Selfupdate-rsync to update your fink distribution.
