This is not a fink-related question (I apologize), but maybe
someone has had a similar problem and can give me some guidance.

After having used my G4 15 inch Powerbook (1.5 Ghz) for more than 6
months,
it suddenly started going to sleep and I can't get it to
wake up until at least 1/2 hour has passed, but it then gives
me just enough time to do a shutdown. After rebooting, it will
work for maybe 15-20 minutes, and then go to sleep again. The
var/log/system.log file states:

"power management received emergency overtemp signal. Going to sleep"

However, I've been monitoring the temperature of the processor/controller
bottom, and I've never seen it go beyond ~50 degrees, and it never feels
as hot as I've seen it get like when I'm doing some heavy processing.

I have changed nothing recently; no new software, no difference in
the way I'm working, etc.

I'm aware that it may be a hardware issue and may have to send it
in for service, but I don't want to have to do this without knowing
what I'm up against.

Thanks,
Gloria.
