Just thinking aloud really!

Is it possible to burn my entire /sw directory tree to a DVD, send it to a
friend and have him use that as a start point rather than going through
the whole 1.8GB of download, compile, install etc.?

I seem to remember there being a part of the install that regenerates any
missing scripts and environment setup?

I ask because i only really use fink for Quanta+ (now KWebDev) and i know
said friend would probably like to do the same, but i wouldn't wish all
the work on him if there was another way!

I realise he'll have to install X11, but primarily being a linux user (as
i was) that won't be a problem.

Ta,
Martin.
