Ugh.  I think I made a couple of errors here.

1)  The syntax I gave you requires you to specify the full path to the
deb files.  The problem with

deb file:/sw.old/fink/debs

is that that all of the files in /sw/fink/debs are symbolic links, and
those links got broken when the directory was moved.

If you use

file:/sw.old/fink/10.4-transitional/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/utils/

for example, to access all of the .debs in the utils section, I think
that would work, if you

2) run "fink scanpackages" after building to generate the file lists
that apt-get uses--I should have had you do this.

Here's an easier idea.  Try adding

deb file:/sw.old/fink stable main crypto
deb file:/sw.old/fink unstable main crypto

again.  Then run "fink scanpackages" and see if that registers the old .debs.
