Yes I read the links I was directed to. That's why I did the "fink list -i system-xfree86" to check if I hade the files I needed. And the installation was from source (fink install xchat).

fink needs help picking an alternative to satisfy a virtual dependency.

(2) xorg: Free X11 implementation for Darwin and Mac OS X
(3) system-xfree86-manual-install: Manually installed X11 components

This is a bit wierd since I have apples x11 installed, and the X11 sdk.

I tried troubleshooting with:
fink list -i system-xfree86
and I get the following information:
Information about 5796 packages read in 12 seconds.
i system-xfree86 2:4.3-2 [placeholder for user installed x11] i system-xfree... 2:4.3-2 [placeholder for user installed x11
devel...
i system-xfree... 2:4.3-2 [placeholder for user installed x11

so all packages needed are installed, right?

Then at the end of the compilation I get this long message (more info
at the end of this message):

In this case I tried installing Xchat and It worked fine. I just don't
know how to interpret these messages?

Did you do a binary or source install of xchat?

And did you read the links you were directed to?
