Hi --
I am having a problem, I believe, with Nautilus.
I just installed Mac OSX 10.4.5, changed my X server to Apple's X11,
and updated my gnome desktop. Everything went very well: I had no
problems starting gnome.
However, when I try to use the file browser the system hangs.
Checking the console log reveals the following:
XFree86 Version 4.4.0 / X Window System

Yikes. In most previous posts I have seen, the gnome-vfs-daemon
issues some sort of diagnostic detailing what went wrong, like bad
file access permissions or something. Here I don't see anything
else, beyond the ignorable warnings described in the fink FAQ.
Going to the crash log for the stack dump:

Wow. Memory access violation.
I'm way outta my league, but sometimes when I see this kind of stuff
back at the death star, it means you're using a DLL routine with a
different signature than that declared in your header, i.e. your lib
and the excutable are out of sync. Or maybe the g_list_sort_real
committed an array boundary violation. OK, I'll stop speculating,
but sometimes I just can't help it.
Course I'm a total mac/X/unix newbie, and I also have impaired
judgement. Have any of you folks seen anything like this?
Thank you for reading this.
