Fink is telling you need a gcc3.3 compiler to build this package--one
is available in your XCode Tools distribution.
i did install gcc3.3 and gcc4.0 out of the xcode. now it gives:
<quote>
The following package will be installed or updated:
silc-client
Can't exec "gcc_select": No such file or directory at /sw/lib/perl5/
Fink/Services.pm line 998.
Use of uninitialized value in scalar chomp at /sw/lib/perl5/Fink/
Services.pm line 998.
Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at /sw/lib/perl5/
Fink/Services.pm line 999.
Failed: This package must be compiled with GCC 4.0.0, but you
currently have
GCC an unknown version selected. To correct this problem, run the
command:
sudo gcc_select 4.0
(You may need to install a more recent version of the Developer Tools
to be
able to do so.)
</quote>
and the shell says sudo: gcc_select: command not found
well, wasn't it the newest version of gcc i just installed? if not,
how can i update it?
