I'm trying to install MPlayer through Fink, and the configure phase
keeps failing due to a missing inttypes.h . I also get the same
configure error when I try to install MPlayer through darwinports. The
exact error is attached at the end of the post.
I've tried googling a variety of searches for combinations of
'Mplayer', 'OS X', 'inttypes.h', 'Macbook Pro', and searching the
fink-beginners and fink-general message archives but nothing seems
vaguely relevant. The included inttypes.h with MPlayer is for cygwin
installations, and looks like it just calls bittypes.h, which I also do
not have.
I'm running a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.4.6. I originally installed
Xcode from the April edition of Apple's Developer DVD series. To try
and fix the problem I've uninstalled Xcode (with the
uninstall-devtools.pl script that is in the "Xcode Tools/Utilities/
directory of the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 that came with the Macbook)
and installed the Xcode that is on the Mac OS X Install Disc 1. This
makes no difference.
The installation of OS X is the one that was installed when I received
the notebook from Apple.
I'm using Fink unstable. Before I start I am running fink selfupdate
and fink update-all.
Has anyone had this problem with a missing inttypes.h?
Is this related to the fact I'm using a Macbook Pro, or is it to do
with bad installs of Xcode, OS X or Fink?
Does anyone know where inttypes.h should be, or where I should get it
from?
Thanks for any help,
Brian.

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and
try again. If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the
FAQ on fink's website solves the problem. If not, ask on the
fink-users
or fink-beginners mailing lists. As a last resort, you can try
e-mailing
the maintainer directly:
Chris Zubrzycki <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Note that many fink package maintainers do not (yet) have access to OS
X on
Intel hardware, so you may have better luck on the mailing lists.
