Thanks for the reply, Alexander.  I followed your advice and tried to remove
the alias using "fink remove texi2html."  The alias remained after this.
Next, I ran "fink reinstall texi2html," yet the alias remained and the
system still does not know where the original is located, giving me the same
error dialog (as before these actions) and offering to "fix" or "remove" the
alias when I ask it to "show original."  Perhaps I should allow the system
to "fix" or "remove" the alias when the dialog appears?
