it's tagged as only working on PowerPC right now, so the fact that it
doesn't show up is actually the desired behavior.  I believe the
maintainer is trying to get it to work for Intel.

This can't be done automatically.  You'd have to write a package to do
this--maybe setting symbolic links and the like.
