I have just installed Fink on my MAC Powerbook (running 10.4.6) and am trying to port my own codes from a Solaris system. I have installed gcc 1:4.0.0-1 and am trying to compile codes previous compiled using f77 using a 'make' file. I get the following error, which suggests some error in the newer version of gcc - indeed there is no directory 4.0.0, and the library is in a directory 4.0.1?
Here's the failing command and error message:
g77 earthpf.o ../Common_files/peripheral.o ../Common_files/earthsubs.o -O -o earthpf -L/usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.1
/usr/bin/ld: can't open: /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.0/libgcc.a (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [earthpf] Error 1
Suggestions?
Thanks!
