Can you try to capture this behavior? It may be easier to do this: 1) Start a 'screen' session by running $ screen 2) Hit Control-A follwed by Shift-H (caps lock off) This will capture your output into a file 3) Do the "fink install popt" or "fink install mozilla". Then if you lock up and have to reboot the output is logged. Otherwise you can kill it with Control-A followed by Shift-H again. -- Alexander K.
